Arbutus Ar"bu*tus, Arbute Ar"bute, n. [L. arbutus, akin to arbor tree.] The strawberry tree, a genus of evergreen shrubs, of the Heath family. It has a berry externally resembling the strawberry; the arbute tree. [1913 Webster]
