OEnanthol [OE]*nan"thol, n. [[oe]nanthylic + L. oleum oil.] (Chem.) An oily substance ({C6H15.CHO}) obtained by the distillation of castor oil, recognized as the aldehyde of [oe]nanthylic acid, and hence called also {[oe]nanthaldehyde}. [1913 Webster]
