[acronym from Low-Density Lipoprotein.] (Med., Biochem.) {Low-density lipoprotein}, a lipoprotein that transports cholesterol in the blood; high levels are thought to be associated with increased risk of coronary heart disease and atherosclerosis; sometimes called informally {bad cholesterol}.
