Purtenance Pur"te*nance, n. [Abbrev. fr. appurtenance.] That which pertains or belongs to something; esp., the heard, liver, and lungs of an animal. [Obs.] `` The purtenaunces of purgatory.'' --Piers Plowman. [1913 Webster]
