Quietus Qui*e"tus, n. [LL. quietus quit, discharged, L., at rest, quiet, dead. See {Quiet}, a., and cf. {Quit}, a.] Final discharge or acquittance, as from debt or obligation; that which silences claims; (Fig.) rest; death. [1913 Webster]
