Remunerate Re*mu"ner*ate (-?t), v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Remunerated} (-?"t?d); p. pr. & vb. n. {Remunerating}.] [L. remuneratus, p. p. of remunerare, remunerari; pref. re- re- + munerare, munerari, to give, present, from munus, muneris, a gift, present. Cf. {Munificent}.] To pay an equivalent to for any service, loss, expense, or other sacrifice; to recompense; to requite; as, to remunerate men for labor. [1913 Webster]
