Rudistes Ru*dis"tes, n. pl. [NL., fr. L. rudis rough.] (Paleon.) An extinct order or suborder of bivalve mollusks characteristic of the Cretaceous period; -- called also {Rudista}. See Illust. under {Hippurite}. [1913 Webster]
