Sanctimony Sanc"ti*mo*ny, n. [L. sanctimonia, fr. sanctus holy: cf. OF. sanctimonie. See {Saint}.] Holiness; devoutness; scrupulous austerity; sanctity; especially, outward or artificial saintliness; assumed or pretended holiness; hypocritical devoutness. [1913 Webster]
