Serranoid Ser*ra"noid, n. [NL. Serranus, a typical genus (fr. L. serra a saw) + -oid.] (Zo["o]l.) Any fish of the family {Serranid[ae]}, which includes the striped bass, the black sea bass, and many other food fishes. -- a. (Zo["o]l.) Of or pertaining to the {Serranid[ae]}. [1913 Webster]
