Shipworm Ship"worm`, n. (Zo["o]l.) Any long, slender, worm-shaped bivalve mollusk of {Teredo} and allied genera. The shipworms burrow in wood, and are destructive to wooden ships, piles of wharves, etc. See {Teredo}. [1913 Webster]
