Joint-fir Joint"-fir`, n. (Bot.) A genus ({Ephedra}) of leafless shrubs, with the stems conspicuously jointed; -- called also {shrubby horsetail}. There are about thirty species, of which two or three are found from Texas to California. [1913 Webster]
