Torula Tor"u*la, n.; pl. {Torul[ae]} [NL., dim. of L. torus a semicircular molding.] (Biol.) (a) A chain of special bacteria. (b) A genus of budding fungi. Same as {Saccharomyces}. Also used adjectively. [1913 Webster]
