Umbrageous Um*bra"geous (?; 277), a. [Cf. F. ombraqeux shy, skittish, suspicious, in OF. also, shady. See {Umbrage}.] 1. Forming or affording a shade; shady; shaded; as, umbrageous trees or foliage. [1913 Webster]
