Lote Lote, n. [L. lotus, Gr. ?. Cf. {Lotus}.] (Bot.) A large tree ({Celtis australis}), found in the south of Europe. It has a hard wood, and bears a cherrylike fruit. Called also {nettle tree}. --Eng. Cyc. [1913 Webster]
