Cerulenin Ce`ru*len"in, n. [isolated from Cephalosporium caerulens.] (Chem.) an antifungal antibiotic, {C12H17NO3}. It inhibits the growth of yeasts by interfering with the synthesis of sterols and fatty acids. [PJC]
