Chortle Chor"tle, v. t. & i. [imp. & p. p. {Chortled}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Chor"tling}.] A word coined by Lewis Carroll (Charles L. Dodgson), and usually explained as a combination of chuckle and snort. [Humorous]
