Dinornis Di*nor"nis, n. [NL., fr. Gr. ? terrible + ? bird.] (Paleon.) A genus of extinct, ostrichlike birds of gigantic size, which formerly inhabited New Zealand. See {Moa}. [Written also {Deinornis}.]
