OF. anoi, anui, enui, annoyance, vexation, F. ennui. See {Annoy}, n.] To disturb or irritate, especially by continued or repeated acts; to tease; to ruffle in mind; to vex; as, I was annoyed by his remarks. [1913 Webster]
