Anthocarpous An`tho*car"pous, a. [Gr. 'a`nqos flower + karpo`s fruit.] (Bot.) Having some portion of the floral envelopes attached to the pericarp to form the fruit, as in the checkerberry, the mulberry, and the pineapple. [1913 Webster]
