Hauynite Ha"["u]y*nite ([aum]"w[-e]*n[imac]t), n. [From the French mineralogist Ha["u]y.] (Min.) A blue isometric mineral, characteristic of some volcanic rocks. It is a silicate of alumina, lime, and soda, with sulphate of lime. [1913 Webster]
