Literalize Lit"er*al*ize (l[i^]t"[~e]r*al*[imac]z), v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Literalized} (l[i^]t"[~e]r*al*[imac]zd); p. pr. & vb. n. {Literalizing} (l[i^]t"[~e]r*al*[imac]*z[i^]ng).] To make literal; to interpret or put in practice according to the strict meaning of the words; -- opposed to {spiritualize}; as, to literalize Scripture.
