Vaccination Vac`ci*na"tion, n. The act, art, or practice of vaccinating, or inoculating with the cowpox, in order to prevent or mitigate an attack of smallpox. Cf. {Inoculation}. [1913 Webster]

Note: In recent use, vaccination sometimes includes inoculation with any virus as a preventive measure; as, vaccination of cholera. [1913 Webster]
