Copperhead Cop"per*head`, n. [From its color.] 1. (Zo["o]l.) A poisonous American serpent ({Ancistrodon conotortrix}), closely allied to the rattlesnake, but without rattles; -- called also {copper-belly}, and {red viper}. [1913 Webster]
