Sarcode Sar"code, n. [Gr. ? fleshy; sa`rx, flesh + e'i^dos form. Cf. {Sarcoid}.] (Biol.) A name applied by Dujardin in 1835 to the gelatinous material forming the bodies of the lowest animals; protoplasm. [1913 Webster]
