Kenogenesis Ken`o*gen"e*sis, n. [Gr. ? new + E. genesis.] (Biol.) Modified evolution, in which nonprimitive characters make their appearance in consequence of a secondary adaptation of the embryo to the peculiar conditions of its environment; -- distinguished from {palingenesis}.
