[imp. & p. p. {Divaricated}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Divaricating}.] [L. divaricatus, p. p. of divaricare to stretch apart; di- = dis- + varicare to straddle, fr. varicus straddling, fr. varus stretched outwards.] 1.
