Enough E*nough" ([-e]*n[u^]f"), a. [OE. inoh, inow, enogh, AS. gen[=o]h, gen[=o]g, a. & adv. (akin to OS. gin[=o]g, D. genoeg, OHG. ginoug, G. genug, Icel. gn[=o]gr, Sw. nog, Dan. nok, Goth. gan[=o]hs), fr. geneah it suffices (akin to Goth. ganah); pref. ge- + a root akin to L. nancisci to get, Skr. na[,c], Gr. 'enegkei^n to carry.] Satisfying desire; giving content; adequate to meet the want; sufficient; -- usually, and more elegantly, following the noun to which it belongs. [1913 Webster]
