Gloomy Gloom"y, a. [Compar. {Gloomier}; superl. {Gloomiest}.] 1. Imperfectly illuminated; dismal through obscurity or darkness; dusky; dim; clouded; as, the cavern was gloomy. ``Though hid in gloomiest shade.'' --Milton. [1913 Webster]
