Pleasantry Pleas"ant*ry, n.; pl. {Pleasantries}. [F. plaisanterie. See {Pleasant}.] That which denotes or promotes pleasure or good humor; cheerfulness; gayety; merriment; especially, an agreeable playfulness in conversation; a jocose or humorous remark; badinage. [1913 Webster]
