Restore Re*store" (r?*st?r"), v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Restored} (r?-st?rd"); p. pr. & vb. n. {Restoring}.] [OE. restoren, OF. restorer, F. restaurer, fr. L. restaurare; pref. re- re- + an unused word; cf. Gr. ???? an upright pale or stake, Skr. sth?vara fixed, firm.
