Sigmoid Sig"moid, Sigmoidal Sig*moid"al, a. [Gr. ???; ??? sigma + e'i^dos form, likeness: cf. F. sigmo["i]de.] Curved in two directions, like the letter S, or the Greek [sigmat]. [1913 Webster]
