palatine pal"a*tine, a. [F. palatin, L. palatinus, fr. palatium. See {Palace}, and cf. {Paladin}.] 1. Of or pertaining to a palace, or to a high officer of a palace; hence, possessing royal privileges. [1913 Webster]
