Myxoedema Myx`[oe]*de"ma, n. [NL. fr. Gr. ? mucus + [oe]dema.] (Med.) A disease producing a peculiar cretinoid appearance of the face, slow speech, and dullness of intellect, and due to failure of the functions of the thyroid gland.
