Box kite Box kite A kite, invented by Lawrence Hargrave, of Sydney, Australia, which consist of two light rectangular boxes, or cells open on two sides, and fastened together horizontally. Called also {Hargrave kite}, or {cellular kite}. [Webster 1913 Suppl.]
